This was my third visit to New York, and my first time being there on such a tight budget. The first time I went, I had just turned 19 and visited for around a week with my two friends (click here to read). The next time I visited, I stayed for just over two weeks with my mom as part of a special trip my brother and I organised for her. As a native of the city, it was the first time she had been back to the US in over twenty years, and it was incredible to see the city through a set of eyes that had seen it so many times before (click here to read).
Between the roughly three weeks I’ve spent in the city between these two visits, it’s safe to say I’ve ticked most of the things I’d like to see off of my bucket list. When I went to visit my mom last month before I moved to Korea, I decided to take a day for myself in the city exploring the parts I had never seen before. I spent the whole day on foot, with just a packed lunch and my reusable water bottle. I’ll be publishing an article later this week on how to spend a day in NYC on $0, but in the meantime here are my photos from that day.
