How to Apply to Teach English in South Korea

This video is all about the application process for Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Korea and the visa process that comes after you are offered and accept a job. Although I’m from the UK, the process is the same across the board for those who live in or are citizens of countries where the primarily spoken language is English.

As well as giving some pointers on interview questions and the paperwork side of the process, I thought it was important to highlight many of the hidden costs that come with applying for work visas abroad and feel it’s extremely important to be aware of such costs whilst saving for your move.

If you have any tips at all for me or anybody watching this video on your personal experience teaching English abroad or if you have any tips on things to do and see in South Korea, then I would love to hear your feedback and stories in the comments! 1. Congratulations on your new position! It should be quite an interesting adventure for you. People in Korea are very good at making one feel welcome. I think you’ll settle in very nicely.

  2. Take a deep breath and just do it. I’m sure you’ll be fine. I’ve been in Thailand for 10 years. If you’ve never lived in Asia before it will be a culture shock. It took me time to get over it but now I’m fine. Let me know if I can help. Well done on the YT channel. I had a stab a few years ago and one day I’ll do it properly. I hope. Good luck.

    1. Thanks Rudi! If you could take a second to subscribe to my YouTube channel I’d really appreciate it!

      1. I’ve subscribed to your channel and really look forward to reading your experience teaching English to Asian students as I’m an English teacher myself. 🙂 Good luck!
