This past January I booked a trip to Brussels on a whim, so I struggled to find a place to stay so last minute. I knew I wanted somewhere modern that was central with good transport links, so Le Coup de Coeur Apartment Grand Place fit the bill perfectly.
For four nights in early January, I paid £203 for a one bedroom apartment. Although this might seem a little steep to some, the size, decor, amenities and location of the apartment is more than justify its price. The apartments have a rating of 8.4 on Booking.com and being an apartment there are no types of meals or day to day cleaning services included.
The building’s exterior is entirely in keeping with the traditional Flemish and Gothic architecture of the surrounding streets and Grand Place, but the interiors are starkly different. There are three separate apartments on different levels, separated by a spiral staircase, and the interiors are stripped back to the bare white walls with exposed beams. The contrast of wood and white is accentuated beautifully with the many windows framing the main room. There was a very modern, black and white bathroom and a separate toilet and bedroom.
This apartment has an incredible location, just a few doors along from one side of the Grand Place. There are plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants in the surrounding streets as well as supermarkets and smaller shops. It is directly across from the city hall, and the Mont des Arts is a five minute walk from the location, and there are bus and metro links less than that away.
Between the three apartments there are two one bedroom and one two bedroom apartments. The apartments are extremely spacious and include a full and equipped kitchen, a heating and air conditioning system.
The entire apartment was spotless upon our arrival, as was the entrance way and the staircase leading to it. Of course it was up to us to keep it clean during our stay, but we were more than happy with the condition it was left for us to live in.
An absolute recommendation for location, cleanliness and space, but be sure to book in advance to avoid paying too hefty an overnight price.
