Being home for the majority of the summer has gave us the opportunity to explore so many of the places a little more close to home. Last week when we had a rare good weather day, we decided to take a road trip down to Carlisle for a few hours. Just south of the border, Carlisle is around an hour and thirty minutes by car from Glasgow, or you can take a train from Glasgow Central and you’ll be there in an hour.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing!
What a lovely place!
Lovely pics! Looks so different on a sunny day. I visited Carlisle 4 years ago, I liked the Roman wall.
Very nice. Love the castle.
Hi, thanks for stopping by and liking my post. You have a great blog. I studied in England from 1999 – 2004, so reading your line “Last week when we had a rare good weather day…” really remind me of those time…believe it or not I kinda miss it 🙂
I spent a week in Scotland and loved it. A wonderful location for venturing out to all kinds of wonderful places. I’ll have to add Carlisle to the list!
