For each night in a Standard Double Room I paid £85. The hotel also offers Standard and Deluxe Queen Rooms which are pricier as well as a Deal of the Day Room. The hotel has a rating of 8.2 on Booking.com which is pretty impressive for a boutique hotel in New York City. Prices do not include breakfast, but in the foyer area there are complimentary teas, coffees and water machines.
The hotel is brand new, and so is everything inside. The reception area is small and decorated minimally, with a lot of black leather and chrome. Both of the exterior walls are entirely glass allowing light to flood in, and on the interior wall there’s a ceiling height water feature. The rooms are all white and very modern, and the hotel overall is impeccably and tastefully decorated.
In the Lower East Side of Manhattan on Orchard Street, the hotel is directly between Little Italy and Chinatown. Surrounded by incredible restaurants, with views of the Empire State Building and One World Trade Centre. The 2nd Avenue subway station is just a two minute walk from the front entrance. The river is a few minutes away in the opposite direction, and several of the bridges across to Brooklyn are also.
The rooms were very compact, but the views and location compensated for that. The bed took up most of the room, but the Deluxe Rooms are larger. Air conditioning, a kettle and television are supplied as well as a small shower room.
By far one of the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, from the front and back entrances to the foyer and of course the rooms, it was evident time was taken to make sure the hotel was kept to a good standard.
We left New York for a few days to visit family in Canada, and the hotel held all three of our suitcases free of charge. Staff were really helpful, really accommodating and helped us add on rooms without any issues.
Although it’s possible to get cheaper hotels in the city, the location is incredible, the hotel is beautiful and brand new and you know you don’t need to worry about cleanliness which can often be an issue in New York City hotels. An absolute recommendation, and if you book far enough in advance it’s possible to book the hotel for less.
